Dr. Hamid Mohajeri is an accomplished physicist, educator, and entrepreneur whose career spans more than four decades across academia, research, and industry. With a lifelong passion for science and innovation, he has dedicated his journey to both advancing knowledge and applying it in practical ways that impact lives.
Academic Excellence
Dr. Mohajeri earned his M.Sc. in Semiconductor Physics (1978) and later pursued advanced studies in the Physics of Semiconductor Lasers (1981) at the University of Hull, England. His academic foundation began at the University of Tehran (Class of 1976), where his passion for physics first took root. He continued his postdoctoral work and research fellowships at the University of Hull and University College of Swansea, Wales, focusing on laser photo-dissociation of atoms and molecules using high-power Argon Ion lasers.
Teaching & Leadership
For over two decades, Dr. Mohajeri has inspired countless students in the classroom. He served as a Full Professor of Physics and Faculty Chair at DeVry University, Pomona, CA (1997–2017), where he taught advanced physics and calculus to engineering students. Since 2018, he has been an Adjunct Physics Professor at Chaffey Community College, Rancho Cucamonga, CA, helping students prepare for careers in engineering and pure sciences.
Research & Innovation
During his time as a Senior Research Fellow at the University College of Swansea (1983–1985), Dr. Mohajeri contributed to pioneering research in laser physics. His academic research built the foundation for his lifelong approach of combining theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
Entrepreneurial Journey
Outside academia, Dr. Mohajeri pursued his entrepreneurial spirit in the automotive industry. He co-founded BTC Mercedes Benz & BMW Auto Diagnostic Center (2006–Present) and previously owned BTC MBZ Auto Service, where he specialized in the repair and maintenance of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, Audi, VW, Mini, and Land Rover vehicles. His unique blend of physics expertise and engineering application allowed him to build a trusted name in precision auto diagnostics and service.
A Life of Dual Passions
Dr. Mohajeri’s career is a rare blend of scholarship and enterprise. From exploring the mysteries of laser physics to guiding engineering students and running a successful auto service business, his work reflects an unwavering commitment to knowledge, excellence, and innovation.
Today, he continues to share his expertise in physics education while maintaining his passion for technological problem-solving—bridging the gap between theory and practice for the benefit of both his students and his community.
In 2015 he started his Retail Auto Dealership in the City of Corona CA and in 2020 moved to the City of Whittier CA. That is why the Name ; Corona Auto Benz was given in 2015 and this DBA was kept since.
In July 2025 moved to city of Upland , where him and his family lives. He is now semi retired from University in California serving his academic carrier following 43 years of teaching and research for our Engineering population in California. He has earned his Ph. D degree in Physics and Engineering in U K and worked as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow ( PDRF) in England and 25 years at DeVry University Pomona CA , USA another 12 years at University of Ferdowsi Iran and one year as research scholar at Optical Sciences Centre in Tucson Arizona. He has written 2 books in the field of Optical Semiconductors and Quantum Electronics / Opto Electronics. Presently authorizing his 3rd text Book for Post- Graduate Engineering Students.
